The Pour House

Hate to say it but this place has since closed. Two friends and I went to The Pour House on 8/4/10 and were told the last night was 8/15/10, and they were not serving waffle fries any more. Very sad, now I have to find a new bar for NFL games on Sunday. When I asked what they were doing with the sauce, they said they were taking it with them to the sandwich shop they would be opening up in the East Falls Farmers Market. So check that out.

Buckets has been under new management for a while now and this was my first time back. I never had a reason to come here since The Pour House has better wings and is around the corner, but due to The Pour House being closed I tried the new Buckets. The inside hasn't changed at all except for more taps (they are trying to be the Union Jacks of East Falls) serving a large selection of craft beers on tap. And there is a new attitude in the new Buckets it is called rude. The waiter/bartender screwed up my order and blamed it on me and when asked to explain the breaded and naked wings (the two options you have for how your wings are prepared) he acted like we should all know and how dare anyone ask how their food is prepared. As for the wings, they were forgettable. Cooked ok flavor was ok. If you are in a jamb try them but otherwise don't bother.

This place takes wings seriously. They have some great flavors including garlic and Parmesan. Well cooked, they give you carrots and celery, and the service is great. I suggest going here to watch a game and have some wings. Also the fries have a great seasoning on them.

Overpriced, rude servers, and raw wings. I never sent an order of wings back until I ate here. Do not go.

There is a good selection of sauces here. It is a great bar to hang out and watch a game. And the wings are cheap. But, the wings are terrible. They are the worst quality wing I have ever tasted as far as quality of the meat. The hot sauce was so watery that it couldn't stick to the wing and at first I asked for more sauce because I couldn't see any on it. The one redeeming quality was the hottest sauce the offer was more like a paste. Between the consistency and the heat it hide the terrible meat quality. I will never order wings here again.

One of the best wings I have ever had. Same owner as Silk City. The wings are very similar to Silk City as well, including their Asian style sauce. They do have bigger wings than Silk City so if you like big wings go here and if you like smaller go there. This bar is very food oriented and everything on the menu was good. The wings were the only wings in "Philadelphia Magazines" article of the 239 must try dishes in the city. Also as with most NoLibs bars there is a great selection of craft beer.

Went here on a tip from a friend and I was very happy to have tried the Pub. Went on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to see they had 25 cent wings. The wings were cooked very well, crispy but not over done. I tried their hot sauce and it was the perfect amount of heat, I had a nice sweat going on my forehead. Good beer selection as well and great service.

What made me go to Silk City the first time was knowing they had the same ownership as North 3rd, so they must have good wings. They did not disappoint. I can say that these are the best wings I have ever tasted. They have two types Buffalo and Thai Chili. The buffalo is not too hot and the Thai chili is on the sweet side. I like them both but my favorite is the buffalo. The wings are cooked to perfection, I went twice before writing this review to confirm the perfect texture wasn't a fluke. They are crispy yet not greasy. They give you carrots and celery with every order and the vegetables are fresh and crisp. The only negative was the bleu cheese, I prefer a chunky bleu cheese and theirs doesn't have big chunks.

Go here on a Monday or Tuesday for 20 cent wings, hard to beat that deal. Wings here are always consistant and are a great value. The wings are on the smaller side but that just makes them always nice and crispy. The hot wings have a decent heat level but won't make you sweat. Great bar to go to for a casual meal and some beers.

Not a place known for their wings. They only offer one flavor and heat level and it isn't very hot. The flavor is a very tangy flavor and the sauce is very sticky. They advertise their wings as being cooked three ways, baked, fried, and grilled. I am not sure what they are trying to accomplish by doing it this way but it rarely results in a wing cooked to my liking, they come out fleshy more often than not. Service here is average and an order of wings is pretty pricey at $9 for 10 wings. They do have nights when the wings are on special, you should try to go then. The thing that bothers me the most about the wings is the vegatables that are served with the wings. The give you celery and carrot sticks with every order but they are always old and wilted. I think it isn't too much to ask for fresh vegatables with the wings as opposed to uneatable veggies.

Not somewhere I would go just for wings but at happy hour I will always grab an order.
Ed's Buffalo Wings & Pizza

Basically a pizza joint with wings in the name. The first time I went here I expected more but not the best quality. Lots of heat levels available. Not the most pleasant staff either. But their wings on a late night with some beers isn't a bad thing at all.
Wings To Go

A lot of different heat levels here and not a bad value but not the best quality. My biggest issue with their sauce it is a butter based sauce and it tends to seperate and makes the flavor from wing to wing inconsistant. Also it is take out only.

If you are a fan of wings then this is the bar for you. This bar has the largest selection of sauces I have come across. My two favorites are hot and southern country, which is a butter garlic sauce. There are many others too like honey caribbean and rasberry jalepeno. Wing size is about medium and price for 10 is pretty good. Great service and beer selection and they have take out.
The Pour House

My favorite bar for wings. I go here almost every Sunday during football season for the wing special. The wings are alway on the large side. I like my wings well done and the kitchen always cooks the perfectly when I order them that way. The sauce is very unique, it is a thinner sauce with a lot of spices in it, it is like no other sauce I have tried. I always get the 4-alarm sauce but I have tried the BBQ and 2 -alarm sauce. The BBQ and two alarm were alright but I need that heat on my wings. My suggestion get a basket of waffle fries with your wings to mop up the extra sauce and wash it down with a cold beer.

These wings are usually on the smaller side, but that isn't necessarialy a bad thing it just means the are almost always going to be nice and crispy. The sauce has good heat and the put enough on them so there is sine left over to dip your crab fries in.
Fox and Hound Pub & Grille

I really liked the texture of these wings. They were very crispy and had almost a dry rub instead of the traditional sauce. Great bar to watch a baseball game and have some beers and wings with friends.
Dark Horse Pub

The best part about this place is the wings are well cooked. To me this is the most important part of the wing. Their wing aren't fleshy or under done. I have only had the one hot sauce at this place and I am not sure what else they offer. Their hot isn't that hot but has good flavor. I would not go out of my way to go here just for the wings, but if I was in the South St./Headhouse Sq. area I would definitely stop in.
